The world's largest collection of optical telescopes is located high above the Sonoran Desert under some of the finest night skies in the world.  Kitt Peak, on the Tohono O'odham Reservation is home to twenty four optical and two radio telescopes, representing eight astronomical research institutions. The Nightly Observing Program is privately guided and will introduce you to star charts, constellations, binocular viewing and state of the art telescopes.

Visit the UA-NASA-Phoenix Mars Mission's Science Operations Center
at the University of Arizona, the first public university to lead a mission to Mars. The Phoenix Mars Mission, launched in August 2007, is the first in NASA's Scout Program and is designed to study the history of water and habitability potential in the Martian arctic's ice-rich soil.

Buses to the AZ SONORA DESERT MUSEUM:

Specific Time Must be Reserved in Advance

We will have buses leaving from the Hotel as follows:


1:45p - this bus goes to the Mars Center for a quick tour and then continues on
to the Museum


2:30- this bus will get you to the Museum in plenty of time to tour the Museum


3:30- you'll have enough time to take a leisurely walk around the gardens


4:30 - final bus which the afternoon tour participants will catch to the Museum - a few extra places availalbe on bus. advance reservations needed.
