Enhancing States of Consciousness with                 

neurotechnology

This workshop will be focused on the use of neurotechnologies in consciousness research and in the clinic.  Drs. Manchanda and Sanguinetti will focus on the most popular tools covering neuromodulation and neurofeedback and the combined use of multiple modalities.  They will discuss transcranial direct current stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, transcranial ultrasound, photobiomodulation, neurofeedback, and biofeedback, among other techniques.  Topics to be covered include the history of these devices, the current state of the science, future directions, safety, and proper use.  Drs. Manchanda and Sanguinetti will do a hands-on demonstration with an interactive demo with the audience with many of the devices.  Other experts from the audience will also discuss various technologies, like Lew Lim, from Vielight, who will discuss the possibility of using photobiomodulation in conjunction with neurofeedback.  The audience can expect to learn the current state of the art for neuromodulation and neurofeedback and be better informed on how they could use these neurotechnologies in their own research or clinical practice.
